Obverse description Central device consists of a royal crown depicted facing, with a circlet bearing nine jewels and surmounted by two arched bands terminating in a monde and cross pattée. An annulet privy mark appears in the field. The peripheral Latin legend is separated from the central device by a beaded inner circle, with a further beaded border at the coin's edge.

Reverse description Central device comprises a royal crown facing, with a circlet bearing five jewels, beneath which is depicted an eagle-headed harp with six or seven strings, characteristic of the Lennox farthing series. No privy mark is present in the field. The peripheral Latin legend, continuing the regnal title from the obverse, is enclosed within a beaded inner circle and outer beaded border.
