Reverse description The reverse features the seated figure of Britannia in left profile, rendered in the elegant neoclassical manner characteristic of Küchler's work for the Soho Mint. Britannia is draped and helmeted, holding a trident upright in her right hand and extending a spray of foliage in her left. A large shield bearing the Union flag rests against her left side, and she is seated upon rocks above a stylised sea rendered as waves along the lower exergue. The peripheral legend BRITANNIA arcs across the upper field, with the denomination 1. FARTHING. inscribed along the lower border, the entire design enclosed within a raised inner circle.
