Obverse description Laureate and draped right-facing bust of King George III, modelled in the neoclassical style by engraver Conrad Heinrich Küchler, with a laurel wreath secured by a ribbon whose ties fall behind the neck. The truncation of the bust is gently draped in classical manner. The circumferential legend reads GEORGIUS III·D:G·REX, interrupted at the base by the date 1806 in the lower field. The entire design is enclosed within a toothed or beaded border, characteristic of Soho Mint's precision milled coinage.
