(Translation: George the Third by the Grace of God King)
Reverse description The seated figure of Britannia occupies the centre of the field, shown in left profile, helmeted, and draped in classical robes. She holds a trident upright in her right hand and extends an olive branch with her left, resting against a Union shield at her side. A small sailing vessel appears in the lower left field behind her, set amid stylised waves. The legend BRITANNIA arcs around the upper periphery, while the denomination 1. FARTHING. appears in the lower exergue, flanked by decorative rosette stops. The word SOHO, denoting the Soho Mint, is inscribed discreetly on the rock upon which Britannia is seated, and the proof surfaces display a brilliant contrast between the polished fields and the intricately detailed devices.
