| Obverse description | Left-facing laureate and draped bust of King George II occupying the central field, engraved in high relief with finely detailed curling hair and a foliate laurel wreath tied at the back with a ribbon. The portrait exhibits the refined, classical style characteristic of John Croker's work for the Royal Mint.
