| Obverse description | Facing crowned bust of Edward IV in a crude, stylized medieval rendering typical of hammered Irish coinage. The king is depicted with a large crown and simplified facial features, rendered in low relief consistent with the small farthing denomination. A partial Latin legend surrounds the bust reading EDWARDVS DS hYBERn, identifying Edward as Lord of Ireland. The die work is characteristic of the Dublin Mint in the late 1460s, with irregular flan edges and uneven strike common to this series. |
