| Obverse description | Crowned facing bust of King Edward I rendered in a bold, stylised medieval manner, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The effigy features a large crowned head characteristic of Class 10 farthings, with facial details executed in the somewhat crude but vigorous style typical of late 13th- to early 14th-century hammered English silver. The surrounding legend in uncial Latin lettering reads EDWARDVS REX, distributed around the circumference between the inner circle and the coin's irregular edge. |
