| Reverse description | The reverse bears bold Arabic calligraphic inscriptions in the naskh style, occupying the majority of the flan in a characteristic multi-line hammered layout. The mint name بلخ (Balkh) and the Hijri date ١٢٩٥ (AH 1295, corresponding to AD 1878) are inscribed across the field. The lettering is deeply struck with broad, flowing strokes typical of provincial Afghan copper issues under Amir Sher Ali Khan. The irregular flan and uneven strike result in partial legend weakness at the margins, as commonly observed on hammered falus of this series. |
