| Obverse description | Central field bears a bold Arabic inscription in two lines reading 'al-mu'ayyad shams', executed in the characteristic crude hammered style of late Gujarat Sultanate copper coinage. The lettering is deeply struck in raised relief against a flat, unadorned field, with no additional decorative elements. The script is angular and robust, typical of provincial Gujarati mint production of the mid-sixteenth century. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, with natural casting irregularities around the periphery. |
