Obverse description Hammered copper flan bearing a bold multi-line Arabic inscription in raised Naskh script filling the entire field, reading 'al-Sultan al-A'zam Abu al-Fath Nasir al-Dunya wa al-Din' (the Supreme Sultan, Father of Victory, Defender of the World and the Faith). The lettering is deeply struck in broad, rounded strokes characteristic of Gujarati sultanate coinage, with patchy green cuprite patination visible between the raised characters. The irregular flan edge reflects the hand-struck manufacture typical of medieval Indian copper issues. No border or decorative framing device is present.
