| Obverse description | A lion passant to the left occupies the central field, with a radiant sun rising above its back — the celebrated Shir-o-Khorshid (Lion and Sun) emblem of the Safavid dynasty. Small stylized blades of grass or a budding floral spray are rendered beneath the lion's body, grounding the figure within the field. The design is executed in bold relief typical of late Safavid hammered copper coinage, with the flan showing characteristic irregularity at the edges. |
