| Reverse description | Hammered copper reverse bearing a multi-line Arabic legend distributed across the field in a bold regional Naskh hand. The inscription records the royal title 'al-Sultan,' the ruler's name ''Umar,' the regnal year '964' in Eastern Arabic-Indic numerals, and the full dynastic attribution 'Ahmad Shah ibn Mahmud Shah,' identifying the issuing sultan within the Gujarat Sultanate lineage. The lettering is deeply struck but irregularly centred, consistent with hand-struck Gujarati copper coinage, and the surfaces carry a dark brown and green patina typical of circulated medieval Indian copper. |
