Obverse description Central field dominated by a stylized tulip or floral motif rendered in high relief, surrounded by a circular border of pellets or rope-like ornamental beading. The overall design is characteristic of Afghan hammered copper coinage of the mid-nineteenth century, with the struck surface exhibiting the irregular planchet shape typical of hand-produced issues. The date ١٢٨٥ (AH 1285) appears in Arabic numerals within the field. Green patination and surface porosity are consistent with prolonged circulation and burial.
