| Obverse description | Hammered copper flan of irregular round form bearing a bold Arabic legend in the field. The inscription, struck in a cursive Naskh-style script, reads the mint formula referencing Burhanabad as the dar al-saltana (seat of the sultanate). The script occupies the majority of the obverse field, with characters showing typical high relief of hand-struck Deccan coinage. Surface exhibits natural patination with areas of red-brown copper oxide consistent with age and circulation. The flan shows uneven edges characteristic of hand-cut planchets of the Ahmadnagar Sultanate period. |
