| Obverse description | Central field occupied by a multi-line Arabic Kufic inscription arranged in horizontal registers within a plain linear square border. The angular, early Kufic lettering is bold and characteristic of Qarakhanid copper coinage of the early 5th century AH. A marginal legend in Arabic script encircles the central square, running along the inner edge of a beaded border. The overall design follows the epigraphic tradition of Islamic fulus, with no figural imagery. |
