| Reverse description | Central field displaying a multi-line Arabic inscription in Kufic script arranged in horizontal registers, recording the name and titles of the Qarakhanid ruler Nasr b. 'Ali along with the mint name Farghana. The inscription is enclosed within a plain inner circle, with a marginal circular legend in Arabic script occupying the border zone between the inner circle and the outer rim. The flan is irregularly shaped with a granular copper surface, consistent with hand-struck coinage of Central Asian production of the late 10th to early 11th century. |
