| Obverse description | Central field features a stylized geometric or zoomorphic motif enclosed within a dotted inner circle, surrounded by an Arabic legend in the outer margin. The design is characteristic of the provincial Ma'munid coinage of Khwarizm, struck in a crude hammered style with irregular flan edges. The dotted border separates the central device from the surrounding epigraphic legend. The surface shows significant wear and die crudeness typical of base-metal fractional coinage of the period. Portions of the marginal legend are weak or off-flan due to the irregular planchet. |
