| Obverse description | Central field bearing the ruler's name and title in Arabic script, executed in raised naskh-style lettering. The inscription reads 'al-Malik al-Muhasin Yusuf', referencing the Ayyubid emir of Aleppo. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, typical of hammered copper coinage of the period. The die is crudely struck, with weak areas at the periphery consistent with hand-hammering technique. No decorative border or additional figural motifs are present. |
