| Obverse description | Hammered copper flan of irregular round form displaying a two-line Arabic legend in the field, reading 'al-Malik al-'Adil' (the Just King), executed in a somewhat crude Naskh script typical of minor Anatolian beylik coinage. The lettering occupies the central field with traces of a surrounding linear border, partially visible due to striking weakness and surface corrosion. The overall style is characteristic of undated provincial fals coinage produced by one of the smaller Anatolian principalities during the 14th to 15th century. |
