Obverse description The inner disc of this bimetallic specimen features the Milda, the allegorical female figure atop the Freedom Monument in Riga, depicted full-length standing and holding aloft three stars, rendered against a stylized radiating geometric background evoking the standard Euro coinage design. The date 2004 appears to the left of the figure in the inner field. The outer ring bears the multilingual specimen legend PRUEBA · TRIAL · ESSAI · PROBE arranged around the upper arc, interspersed with small decorative bug or beetle ornaments at the cardinal points, while the lower arc carries the inscription LATVIJAS REPUBLIKA. A small mint mark is visible in the lower portion of the inner disc.
