| Obverse description | Draped bust of Jean Parisot de la Vallette, Grand Master of the Order of Malta, facing slightly right, depicted in armour, occupying the central silver field. The name JEAN PARISOT DE LA VALLETTE is inscribed in a curved legend within the inner field, accompanied by the date 2003 and the fineness mark G AG 999 to the lower left. The outer gold-plated ring bears the multilingual specimen inscriptions PRUEBA, TRIAL, ESSAI, and PROBE separated by Maltese cross and star ornaments, with MALTA appearing at the base. |
