| Obverse description | Central field features the crowned double-headed eagle, the arms of Montenegro, displayed with wings spread and a shield on its breast bearing the lion passant. The eagle is surrounded by a raised inner ring, outside of which twelve five-pointed stars are arranged in a ring around the circumference, evoking the European Union motif. The legend MONTENEGRO arcs along the upper rim in bold Latin capitals, while the date 2005 appears in the exergue.
