| Obverse description | Central device features the Portuguese coat of arms superimposed upon an armillary sphere, the meridian bands of which extend nearly to the beaded border. Above the shield, the crowned arms of the Portuguese overseas territories are arranged in a semicircular crest. The denomination '1$00' appears in large numerals at the base of the design, flanked by two small floral ornaments. The circular legend 'ESTADO·DA·INDIA' runs along the upper periphery within the beaded border, identifying the issuing territory. |
