Reverse description A ceiba tree occupies the center of the design, dividing the denomination value into two parts in the field on either side. A patriotic motto in Latin script encircles the design along the periphery. In the lower exergue, the mint mark (NG for Nueva Guatemala), assayer's initial (M), and fineness (21 karats) are inscribed, with the denomination abbreviated to the right.
