Reverse description Central device features the quartered royal arms of Spain within an ornate shield, displaying the castles of Castile and lions of León in alternating quarters, with the Granada pomegranate at base and the Bourbon fleur-de-lis escutcheon in pretence. The shield is surmounted by an elaborate royal crown. To the left of the shield appear the assayer's initials MF (stacked vertically), and to the right the denomination numeral 1, flanked by small rosette ornaments. The circumferential Latin legend encircles the entire design, with the mint mark Mo appearing at the base.
