Obverse description Draped bust of King Charles III facing right, rendered in high relief with the monarch depicted wearing armored shoulders and a tied cravat, his hair dressed in a club wig style typical of the late 18th century. The circular legend surrounds the effigy reading CAROL·III·D·G·HISP·ET·IND·R·, abbreviated from Carolus III Dei Gratia Hispaniarum et Indiarum Rex. The mint date 1787 appears in the lower exergue beneath the bust, flanked by small decorative stops. A fine milled border frames the entire design.

Reverse description The crowned Royal Arms of Spain displayed at center, featuring the quartered shield with the castles of Castile and lions of León, divided by the pomegranate of Granada, and flanked by the Pillars of Hercules. The shield is encircled by the collar of the Order of the Golden Fleece, with the suspended Golden Fleece pendant visible below. The denomination numeral and assayer's initial appear divided to either side of the arms, with the mint mark PTS (Potosí) and assayer initial incorporated into the legend. The surrounding Latin motto IN·UTROQ·FELIX reads around the periphery.
