Reverse description The quartered royal coat of arms of Spain, displaying the castles of Castile and the lions of León in alternating quarters, with the Granada pomegranate in base, surmounted by the royal crown. The shield is flanked by the mint mark and assayer's initials, with the denomination numeral visible in the field. A continuous circular Latin legend surrounds the central device, and the entire composition is enclosed within a toothed border consistent with the milled coinage standard.
