Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Libertas facing right, her hair adorned with an olive wreath and falling in loose locks behind. The legend REPUBLICA PORTUGUESA curves along the upper periphery, with the date 1933 descending along the right rim. The portrait is rendered in a classical allegorical style, with fine engraving attributed to Simões, and a beaded border frames the entire design.
