Reverse description Central oval cartouche bearing the arms of France — three fleurs-de-lis arranged two and one — surmounted by the royal crown of France, and flanked symmetrically on either side by an olive branch, the whole symbolising royal authority and peace. The circular legend SIT NOMEN DOMINI BENEDICTUM, accompanied by the date 1790, runs along the outer border. The mint mark W, indicating the Lille mint, appears at the base of the design between the two olive branches.
