Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Louis XV facing left, the neck tied and draped in an embroidered jacket adorned with the cordon and cross of the Order of the Holy Spirit. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the neoclassical court style engraved by Roettiers. The mint workshop mark appears beneath the bust in the lower field. The circular Latin legend commences at approximately the seven o'clock position and runs clockwise around the periphery.
