Obverse description Panoramic cityscape view of Lausanne depicting the historic old town with prominent church spires and the Gothic Cathedral of Notre-Dame dominating the skyline, set against a mountain backdrop. The foreground features terraced architecture and landscaped areas rendered in fine relief. The inscription LAUSANNE appears in the lower left field in bold Latin lettering. To the lower right, the heraldic arms of Lausanne are displayed, flanked by two lions rampant as supporters within a cartouche.

Reverse description A large Swiss Federal Cross in raised relief occupies the upper center of the field, surrounded by a complete border of twenty-two individual cantonal shields arranged in a ring around the periphery. Below the cross, the denomination and date are inscribed in two lines reading 1 ECU ARGENT and 1964. The fineness mark 0.835 and the mint initials HF appear in small lettering beneath the date at center. The engraver's initials LP are visible at the left side of the canton shield border.
