| Additional information |
Geneva's commemorative écu issues of the 1960s were produced by Huguenin Frères of Le Locle, a private medal and coin manufacturer that handled a significant share of Swiss cantonal and municipal numismatic work throughout the postwar decades. These pieces occupy an ambiguous commercial space — struck to a respectable silver standard but issued outside the federal coinage system, giving them medal legal status regardless of their denomination labeling.
