Reverse description The central device consists of the quartered arms of Gelderland, displaying rampant lions in each of the two visible quarters of the divided shield, surmounted by an elaborate mural or provincial crown of five visible arches. The shield and crown occupy the majority of the field. A circular Latin legend reading IN DEO SP NOS encircles the crowned shield, separated by dot stops, referencing the provincial motto. The legend is set close to the milled rim, which mirrors the beaded border of the obverse.
