Obverse description The crowned monogram of Elector Frederick William of Brandenburg occupies the central field, surmounted by an electoral crown. The date is inscribed within the field, flanked by the crown above and the monogram below. The entire central device is encircled by a wreath of laurel or olive branches tied at the base, lending a decorative frame to the composition. The overall style is consistent with mid-17th-century German copper coinage, with bold, raised lettering and relief elements.
