| Obverse description | The obverse features the city name inscribed in two bold horizontal lines across the field, reading STAD above UTRECHT, with the four-digit date followed by a period positioned in the lower portion of the coin. The large, prominent lettering fills the flan in a plain, unadorned typographic style characteristic of Dutch municipal coinage of the early eighteenth century. The entire design is enclosed within a finely toothed or grained border running along the rim. |
