Obverse lettering WEST FRISIA 1658
Reverse description The crowned arms of West Friesland are displayed centrally within a circular legend border on the square klippe flan. The shield bears the characteristic West Frisian lion rampant design, surmounted by an ornate crown. The surrounding circular legend reads DEVS. FORTI. ET. SP. NOS, translating as 'God is our strength and hope,' in Latin capital letters. The composition fills the central roundel, with the corners of the klippe flan visible beyond the border.
