Obverse description City name CAMPENSIS arranged in three horizontal lines across the central field, enclosed within a wreath of tulips. The wreath forms a decorative border around the legend, characteristic of late 16th-century Low Countries municipal coinage. The outer legend reads CIVITATIS IMPERIALIS, identifying Kampen as an imperial city. The overall style is typical of hammered copper duit coinage of the Dutch Golden Age.
