Obverse description Armored knight on horseback galloping to the right, brandishing an upraised sword; the provincial arms of West Friesland appear on a shield beneath the horse. A privy mark is positioned at the top of the field. The encircling Latin legend reads MO : NO : ARG : PRO : FŒ : BELG : WESTF, identifying the coin as new silver coinage of the federated Belgian-Netherlands provinces of West Friesland. The overall composition is rendered in high relief with fine milled execution characteristic of Dutch Republican silver coinage.
