Obverse description A fully armored knight on a charging horse moving to the right dominates the field, his right arm raised and brandishing a sword aloft. The crowned arms of Holland appear beneath the horse. The encircling Latin legend runs along the periphery, separated by decorative stops, identifying this as a new coin of the Province of Holland within the Confederate Netherlands. The striking is bold and deeply detailed in the high-relief milled tradition of Dutch provincial coinage.
