| Obverse description | The obverse depicts a fully armored knight on horseback prancing to the right, brandishing an upraised sword in his right hand. Beneath the horse appears the crowned arms of Utrecht province, featuring a quartered shield with lions and a cross. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border, with the circular Latin legend running along the periphery reading MON FOED BELG PRO TRAI IN USUM SOCIET IND ORIENT, indicating this coinage was struck for the use of the Dutch East India Company under the authority of the federated Belgian province of Utrecht. |
