Obverse description The obverse depicts Saint Peter standing at left in flowing robes, presenting a banner or standard surmounted by a small effigy to a kneeling senator figure at right, who receives it in a gesture of investiture. The senator is shown in ceremonial attire, kneeling in a posture of submission and reverence. Between the two figures, the staff of authority is prominently centered in the field. The scene is rendered in the Gothic hammered style characteristic of medieval Italian gold coinage. The surrounding legend reads S. PETRVS SENATOR VRBIS in uncial Latin characters.

Reverse description The reverse presents a frontal standing figure of Saint Peter, bearded and nimbed, draped in long ecclesiastical robes, with both arms slightly extended in a hieratic pose. The figure is framed between two beaded inner borders forming a pointed oval mandorla, with small six-pointed stars disposed symmetrically in the intervening field on both sides. The design closely follows the Venetian ducat prototype adapted for Roman senatorial coinage. The surrounding circular legend in uncial Latin reads ROMA * CAPVT * MVNDI * S * P * Q * R *, invoking Rome as the capital of the world and the authority of the Senate and People of Rome.
