| Obverse description | Half-length crowned effigy of Emperor Ferdinand I facing right, holding a scepter over his right shoulder with the hilt of a sword visible to the right. The imperial portrait is rendered in the Habsburg manner typical of mid-sixteenth-century hammered coinage. The legend, identifying Ferdinand as Holy Roman Emperor, is inscribed in Latin between two pearled circles that frame the central design. |
