| Additional information |
Wilhelm von Rosenberg was the last male of his line and one of the wealthiest magnates in Bohemia, controlling estates extensive enough to support independent coinage rights. He died in 1592 without an heir, ending five centuries of Rosenberg power and transferring his lordship — and minting rights — to Emperor Rudolf II. Ducats issued under his authority in the final years of his life are consequently rare; production windows were narrow and the political will to strike them diminished as his health declined.
