Theodore Adolphus von der Recke served as Bishop of Paderborn from 1650 to 1661, inheriting a diocese that had been devastated by the Thirty Years' War — Paderborn itself had changed hands repeatedly between Catholic and Protestant forces, and the episcopal finances were in serious disrepair by the time the Peace of Westphalia was signed in 1648. Ducats of this reign are struck in very small quantities, reflecting both the economic exhaustion of the territory and the brevity of meaningful mint activity under Recke.
Fr#1958 records only a handful of confirmed specimens.
