Reverse description A flaming altar or sacrificial table depicted at center, adorned with drapery and surmounted by a flame issuing from its top, symbolizing a votive offering. The front face of the altar displays the imperial double-headed eagle above the Nuremberg city arms, flanked by two additional heraldic shields. The inscription PIA OPTIMO PRINCIPI VOTA DICIT encircles the design, translating as 'Pious vows dedicated to the best prince.' Below the altar, the civic legend S·P·Q·N· (Senatus Populusque Norimbergensis) appears in the exergue, identifying the Senate and People of Nuremberg as the dedicators. The entire design is framed by a fine beaded border.
