| Obverse description | Within an ornate laurel and floral wreath border, a comet with a prominent tail of radiating rays traverses the field from right to left, with a star-like nucleus visible at lower left. The inscription ANNO 1618 / 19 NO appears in the lower portion of the field, recording the date and month of the comet's appearance. The square klippe flan features a milled border along its edges. The overall composition commemorates the Great Comet of 1618, a significant astronomical event of the period. |

A sun with rays appears above in the field. The biblical citation ESA 42 (Isaiah 42) is inscribed in the exergue. A continuous Latin legend encircles the outer border, reading GOTT RECHT BERT KEIN SWNDER VERS BERT GOTT, expressing a religious sentiment.
