| Obverse description | Full-length armored figure of Emperor Rudolph II standing facing, wearing ornate suit of armor with sword at left side and orb in right hand, set within a beaded inner circle. The date 1587 appears divided across the lower field flanking the figure. The legend surrounding the portrait reads RVDOL II D G R I S A G H B REX, identifying the emperor by name and his titles as King of Romans, Bohemia, Hungary, and Archduke. The mintmark of the Breslau mint appears at the base of the design. The overall style reflects the refined late Renaissance hammered craftsmanship characteristic of Silesian ducats of this period. |
