Reverse description The central device displays the crowned Imperial double-headed eagle of the House of Habsburg, with wings displayed and a complex quartered escutcheon on its breast incorporating the arms of Austria, Burgundy, and other dynastic territories. The crowned heads of both eagles face outward to left and right respectively. A circular Latin legend surrounds the eagle, reading ARCHIDVX • AVST • DVX • B • ET • SILESIA, proclaiming Rudolf's titles as Archduke of Austria and Duke of Burgundy and Silesia. The overall execution is consistent with the hammered gold ducat coinage produced at the Breslau mint under Rudolf II.
