Petr Vok z Rožmberka, the last of the Rosenberg line, struck ducats from the gold mines on his Bohemian estates under a privilege that was increasingly resented by the Habsburg crown. By 1594 he was already accumulating the debts that would eventually force him to sell Český Krumlov to Rudolf II in 1601 — effectively ending four centuries of Rosenberg territorial power. The mining rights underpinning this coinage died with the dynasty's finances long before Petr Vok himself did in 1611.
