| Obverse description | Central field displays a quartered heraldic shield bearing horizontal barry stripes, characteristic of the Wallachian princely arms, flanked by small ornamental devices. The shield is rendered in low relief typical of hammered medieval coinage. A circular legend in hybrid Cyrillic-Latin characters surrounds the central device, reading +IWANMOSANVIV, representing the ruler's name and title. The coin's irregular flan exhibits a beaded border encircling the entire design. The die work reflects the provincial minting style of 14th–15th century Wallachia. |
